Buffalo Mountain Yurts are beginning a “off the grid” experience.  

Rent a 3 day or a week experience living in a 16 ft yurt in the woods.  Actually experience what it would be like to live “off the Grid”.  This will be a great opportunity to see if you are cut out for this type of living.  

 

16 ft yurt (Sleeps 4)  will have:

                                 Small solar power unit (this will run led lights, radio & a small fan)

                                55 gallon fresh water container full of water that will flow to the yurt

                                Outdoor solar shower which provides warm water for shower

                                Demand propane water heater

                                Small back-up generator

                                Basic kitchen utensils for cooking

                                 Propane stove top for cooking

                                Coffee maker

                                Bunk bed sleeps 3  (double on bottom single on top)

                                Small futon couch for 1

                                Our “featured web site” compost toilet

 

You will need to bring food, pillows, towels, sleeping bags etc....

We offer fully equipped yurts with electricity to primitive yurts for family camping near the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We are 7 miles from Mabry Mill. Our yurts range from 12 to 20 ft rentals. Some will be rustic and others will have electricity and equipped inside for a comfortable stay. Our location is 154 Buffalo Rd, Dugspur, Va

 

There will be several Trail Hovels along the path on our 30 acre wooded hillside to camp with fire pits at each site.  You can walk the trails and up to the top of the hill where you can see a breath taking scenery of rolling mountains in the midst of a peaceful and pleasant surrounding.  Bring a blanket and have a picnic at the top of the hill. Enjoy the wonders of God and catch a glance of a deer or any other wildlife.

 

This is a new project for us and will be adding more attractions to our campground as we go. This takes time and money, as our campground grows so will the extras for you to enjoy during your stay.

BMY is a family campground and does not allow any alcoholic beverages.
